Aadhaar Status FAQs
Q: How can I check Aadhaar status without EID?
If you lost your EID, use the “Retrieve EID/UID” service on the UIDAI website. Enter your name and registered mobile number to get the EID via SMS, then check the status.
Q: How many days does it take to update Aadhaar in 2026?
UIDAI states that 90% of updates are processed within 30 days. However, demographic updates (Name, Address) are often faster (5-15 days), while biometric updates take longer.
Q: Why is my Aadhaar status stuck on “In Process”?
This happens during high server load or if manual verification is pending. Do not re-apply immediately. Wait for at least 90 days before contacting UIDAI support (1947).
Q: Can I check status by Name and Father’s Name?
No, checking status directly by Name is not possible for security reasons. You must retrieve your EID first.
